This week's challenge..

...from LuckySnapping is happening over here!  Lynne has set us a nice thought provoking prompt for the week :

“There are 3 things that a child can teach an adult

To be happy for no reason

To be always be busy doing something

And to know how to demand – with all one’s might- what one wants” ~ Paulo Coelho

My questions to you

What makes you happy? Are you ever happy for no reason? Why?

What are you busy doing this week?

What do you want, wish for? Are you good at demanding what you want like children do?

So I asked my family, an amusing bunch and this is what they said :

What makes me happy?..When you have fed all your family and someone else does the dishes.

Am I ever happy for no reason? Yes...

Why?... Generally because you have had three or more ports!

Thanks guys, but I cannot disagree.. more sensible thought out offerings will come as the week goes by!

.................................................

This is the view I had as I left my bedroom and looked out to the front garden this morning.. a sweet frosting of snow!  Later the view from my kitchen towards the yard, where my new extension will be ..sooooon!  (the builder is coming to see us Wednesday.. yay!)
and this is the view out of my front door.. April who has joined the blogging crew, taking her revised 'snow' January view..

Work today and Lyla stayed home as poor Lisa lives about 5 miles higher than us, the snow was thicker and the roads are all downhill, so they enjoyed an extra weekend day. (btw the girls have been brilliant with Annabelle, Lilly even watched a whole film sitting holding her.. awhhh)
Col & I had a great surprise which was being kept from us.. Jordan got her braces off her teeth.. after almost three years of treatment, revealing and removing hidden teeth.. oh what a fabulous job they did.. .. ..... she hates today's picture as she says she looks spaced out, but hey, look at those pearly whites and I think she looks like my niece Jana, her cousin and I haven't seen that before!

365/293 B&W Landscape

Well it's lazy Friday evening for me.. a root to my photo files which was the first thought when I saw B&W landscape.. so to be fair I haven't really tried to take a new one today.

Col and I went to Truro and had a few hours out this afternoon, we ate out and wandered and we got a new sewing machine as mine is about 25 years old and keeps acting up on JB.

It was lovely and a nice start to the weekend.. not least of all because we got back to find some tasty orders and letters of 'intent' to buy... go weekend!

As Autumn settles in for a few fine crispy days I thought these snow pics from January 2011 are almost black and white..

.. so, have a great weeknd everyone.. we're off to see the Wizard of Oz with Jb's fella as the Scarecrow.. and maybe some housework, I feel a Christmas coming on.. or maybe not!

I love Wales!

We drove a lot over the weekend, as happens when you have an event Saturday and spend Friday and Sunday getting there and back. So most of my photos are taken out of the van, Col had been away on calls so we didn't have chance to take the car... but he does love the space the van allows and quietly I must admit it gives you a much nicer view of the countryside.

Wales offered the perfect snow cenario... roads passable so you can move about but white hedgerows and mountaintops and a fabulous winter sun....loved it!

Is there something about cloud formations in areas of high ground I wonder? Guess I should know, esp as I profess to love geography so much. But the skies were definitely something special as we travelled towards Aberporth for Hazel's party.. the pics don't really do it justice, but they did give me that special feeling.

Pictures for Will..

I was chatting by email to Will in the US earlier this week, (or is it now last week?... whichever)...I promised I'd post some pictures for him. The first is of Jordan the day we did the West Cornwall nostalgia tour with U Bill, Deborah & Suzannah.. wow it seems an age ago now,but the very cold weather was approaching and we were trying to hide from the chill in the lee of the scenery!

The second is my favourite view of the snowy garden.. from inside through a window!

Ross bridged the gap between adult & child, as ever and this one of him and Rob (grateful for a play out of doors, whatever the weather).   Kate's here now wishing the fine mist of snow which has ben drizzling its way to the ground all day, would turn into afullblown blizzard capable of crippling the school calendar for another few days yet!
And a last little view of Christmas in Mousehole.. we chose a dreadful night of rain to go there, but we persevered and the lights look spectacular whatever the weather..ahhh, til next year then..xx

(s)NO(w) School today..

So Ross, Zac, Jordan & Kate set off to find some slopes to enjoy the fun. The snow was sprinkled on the hedges here but quite thick in places and there's something nice about being on the roads where no cars can travel.  I really like this picture, almost black & white with odd accents of golden gorse.

(Good scrapping pics to use my black & white stash Lisa gave me for Christmas..) Ross took most of the pictures and I can see he had my scrapping gene at work while he was eying up the shots..
