365/266 Random item..and a Happy Scrapper.

Well I resorted to using the pc and my phne picyures, must get researching why Bloger and my Samsung tablet are not being very friendly towards each other..any thoughts would be appreciated.. Zac and the phone shop people say it is that they are not compatible but you would hope an update would improve things.  I can Blogger post pics from it but they are very low quality and usually use the internet site to do it.. blah blah Blogger!

So through the week I finished this layout of the dolphins we saw a few weeks back. Some of the images are even stills from the videos, good old Picasa eh!
My plan was for a double layout with colour pics as well and I had used some B&W papers and green but JB looked at it and we agreed it wasn't working,.  Then I picked out this great sky sheet and dropped the pics on it, perfect.. and used the Papermania B&W ribbons, bows and buttons Pops gave me for my birthday...

I am entering the Happy Scrappers monthly challenge , and in good time this month, though if I had been clip to time I would have missed it with the Blogger vs Samsung fiasco.
Oh and I also loved using my Crop-a-Dile..eyelet heaven!

This is my random item .. Zac packed and left by mid-day, TV, X-box, de-humidifier, clothes, a tuck shop of food condiments and odds and sods, bedding, paintball kit.. his Laguna is a veritable tardis!
I photographed his parallel rule before he added it to the pile!

365/243 Thriving.

Yesterday evening I had a couple of hours productive scrapping.

Zac is home next week and I am hoping to get up to date on his midi sized album for when he gets back.. I also wanted to enter a 'sports' challenge on Happy Scrappers' but sadly had trouble transferring images and ended up missing the chance to enter.. ah well, it was only just 'sporty' anyways.. a few nice shots of him during his time off in May, paddle boarding and sailing.

Must try harder with the Happy Scrappers challenge, it is no pressure, one layout a month and an easy prompt.. maybe it's the pressure which is lacking.. you know the cameraderie we seem to feel on the 365 challenge which makes us all want to do it for the team!

I was laughing at myself for not having all the letters I wanted.. I used the surround instead of the letters as there were more of these to suit!

Mmm, busy day today, more customers here but it all went well and I thought Col and I should get out for an hour after work.... we headed to a local pub but it was real busy so we ordered Indian take-away .... and waited the same hour we expected to wait at the pub.. oh well..home to eat it and then get some blogging updated..

and here we are.. have just been upstairs trying to view the back of my back tooth which feels like a piece has fallen off it.. urghh, hate anything to do with teeth. or to the point dentists!  So imagine me, a small, say 2inch circular mirror in mouth trying to view very back back tooth in larger mirror.. and get the light to shine.. and watch it all with glasses perched on nose.. a sure sign I am not too far from ... well being old!!
Yeah, everyone keeps telling me that I keep stopping mid-flow on a story or sentence .. and then never finish it.. but I say it's not my age it's just.........

....... oh, I forget now!  ;-)

365/201 Cheese.

So at last I am back on track and not a day behind, have been blogging in retrospect, just don't seem to have been inspired the last few days, maybe not much happening here, or perhaps too much ..but the weekend approaches and sunshine they say..a trip out in the boat we hope and to Plymouth shopping with my three girls (a six monthly event for Lisa's birthday and then pre-Xmas..Mum's treat, we even go 1st class on the train and get free coffees which is just about even!)

..and so to the prompt ...I cannot imagine a life without cheese.. we always have cheese in the fridge and on special occasions I buy smelly blue cheese and garlic cheese, but only when there are other people here to eat it with me!

Normally we have cheese at least once a day, Mexicana hot cheese and pepper Boursin are great but we always always have cheddar! I wonder if Colin and our pal Simon might tire of cheese s/w for lunch but I do ring the changes with coleslaw and stuff and pasties some days and if customers visit we buy lunch in.. so I look forward to that.. like tomorrow.. our friends from the MoD visiting!

The first is my cheese drawer today and the next is an old snap of my favourite buy for Christmas evenings in with visitors!

...........................

So this evening I thought I'd do a bit more on the layout for the Happy Scrappers Challenge.. the theme is Birthday Celebrations and I found a great set of pictures Jordan took of Lilly last year blowing out the candles on her cake and of course directing the cutting operation. The pointed finger and the frown are just so 'her', we love every ounce of her and her brilliant attitude, although it's a full time job pacing yourself with her so as to not let her get the upper hand (too much!)

I used an idea from another layout and made some bunting which threaded really well onto some gold wire which keeps it firmer and twisted.

So glad I made the green sheet of '3' paper fit, all it needed was some distressing with pink and star masking on the striped Stamping Up paper I used for the backing.

I must have bought that way back when.. well before she was born I guess!

Great Outdoors!

Well I finally got myself back in the scrapbooking saddle today.. I printed out some of the pictures Zac left for me and thought I'd link it to enter the Happy Scrappers online monthly Challenge.  I am slightly apprehensive as I have a double page layout but the pages are about 11x8, which is a bit unusual and not on 'the list'.. hope Shaz will understand and it IS undoubtedly a scrap layout..

...On his first seaphase Zac got a days excursion in Mexico and they went canoeing and also trekking, they even went swimming in the pool while they watered the horses.

A couple of weeks later a bunch of the crew went up to one of the high points in Hawaii on a special 'mission' .. Bad weather had meant that the previous trip had missed this island and a family that were travelling out to sprinkle the ashes of their mother there did not get there.... so this trip the crew took 'Beatrice' to her final resting place.

I was fascinated to see the snow on the volcano in Hawaii, a volcano itself would be great, but snow in the tropics is just too much.. x
