August views.. in part!

Jen is being great setting us some daily prompts but I still have no indoor PC and find blogging impossible on a tablet, so it's a phone/ hotmail/ work sneaky blog this week..I am away a couple of nights so may have to catch up late on Sunday..

Lots going on all the time in our house; April is looking after Lyla a few days while big sister is at 'Camp', she loves that by the way and is only just 5 years old, so so gregarious our Lilly!
Kate is off to Boardmasters Festival for the weekend and we have no worries about the vices of the surfers festival as we think she will take so long getting ready she won't be able to party much (yeah, right!)  I am a little cautious about the whole thing but give them enough rope and hopefully they will use it to secure the tent!! ;-)  We have tried to give her the best prep and she has made sure her nails are done and the tan, plus she has a mirror and wetwipes packed, ... cushty!

August Sofa View! (sisters...!)
Lisa and the crew are coming by for a barbecue this evening, I took these pics when she came by yesterday, an up-to-date on 'Chubber' Annabelle and even got Lisa & Kate on the sofa view!!

Just saying Hi and yes I am in the land of the living! Just not blog land!

We have had family home for two weeks, the Easter break and a couple of nights away, plus my admin lady has been on long break so I have had to work too!

Love to all, I will be posting my challenge and a mega catch up tomorrow evening! Loves K x

In the meantime, whilst I have a moment here are some of my views to catch up...

Pizza travels and Views galore!

Happy Mother's Day from Zac x

Can't believe how the time has run away from me the last two weeks! I have been reading blogs from everyone quite a bit but not been able to comment much as on my phone and just so so busy..I feel like I have lots to tell, time to account for but not sure where to begin..so here's the highlights:

..25-27 Feb ..got caught up at work, ticked all the boxes for things I 'should have done',

..got the train to Southampton on 28th Feb, met Zac, had Pizza Express and a lovely hour with him..

.. met his flatmate, yapped for England, had Domino's pizza when Col got back from ferryport about 10pm (only one piece for me!)

..stayed in Winchester for a couple of nights, cute little hotel but the parking (for a long wheel base van) was a nightmare, we had to get special agreement with the Council Parking dept to be sure we didn't get a ticket, even in a coachpark!

..1st  March, Pizza Express for dinner and then out to see Al Murray with Zac & Sean, great seats in circle at the side.. Al is a brilliant clever guy and incredibly talented with an audience.. and the Winchester theatre is wonderful.

2/3 March we travelled home and had a pretty good night out in Torquay, plenty of wine and oh yes, a Prezzo pizza!!  (can you see a pattern here.. we are nothing if not predictable!)

This week.. back to the grindstone, well the office, plenty to do and great to have Col home for another couple of weeks before his next trip!

Tuesday 5th :JB & I had a nice sortie to Truro after she secured herself a Foundation Diploma place for next year at a great little college called Tregye.  We shopped for her, we don't do it so much lately as she drives herself now.. oh and there were birthdays to think of:
In the evening we went to see Micky Flanagan, again a great comedian but for sure Al is King xx

Pop's first hold..

7 weeks

Wednesday 6th March.. Kate turned 16 years old and Lyla was 2!  We all got together and had takeaway here, a bit chaotic and a little sad as Kate and her first b/f are looking like they are splitting up... but hey, there are more fish just over the hill!! ;-)

She had lots of clothes for presents and when the weather improves she is having a camp out..

ahhhh I knew there was something else to tell.. the porch has gone! So my views from outside are very different! I am made up, we even went out to look at kitchens and lights this weekend.. more on that later! Happy bunny!
Here are some of my pictures from the last week, and my views..

March Sofa view on Mother's Day..why are the boys the ones sitting down?
We went to our Mum's today with Ross & JB, the weather was very wintery!

Sure fits this month's verse:

March brings breezes loud and shrill, stirs the dancing daffodil.

... and very lastly I have sinned in Lucky Snapping, the first time.... I did not post last week for Lynne's challenge..

'look closely, the beautiful may be small...' a little guy Jordan found on our holiday..the island is full of them, so cute!

February sofa view!

January
That title kind of reads a bit strange but it will all fall into place as the months progress. We are back on Week 1 of the month and Jen has given us the next line of the poem from Sarah Coleridge....    February brings the rain, thaws the frozen lake again.

I am sure the rain will not be a problem but getting a touch of frost may be hard here as so many of the views I chose are very close to the sea..

The monthly 'Sofa View' however will not be affected by the weather.. but I am doing it all the same! Yesterday all the family came over, M&D, three little girls and we all got some lazy time together.. well maybe not JB and Tom as they took Lilly to wash cars in the yard but great fun was had and the big girls had a bath too, so that was another Sunday night chore off their list which if I recall helps a lot!

February?

Jordan took some nice pictures and I took a few on my phone, this one is very similarly positioned to the January one (also a rubbish quality as on my phone!), but it shows Lilly in a sheep outfit and Lyla cuddling up, much to Lilly's annoyance!

..and as for baby Annabelle.. well she and I had our little bit of time too. It's hard when there are young ones who know you so well, not to feel like you are leaving them out, but they were fine and I snuck the little one upstairs for my first time bathing her in my bedroom sink...  Heating on, towels soft, April on camera and me on Nannie mode.... I just loved it, we talked... well, she listened and I talked!  She cried a little but not too much and we washed her hair and rinsed her off, then cuddled up in some warm towels.

It all is so second nature and comes back to you in an instant, I found myself telling April all the things the lovely midwives at Bolitho (Maternity Home) told us as first time Mums .. how to rest them on your wrist and hook your little finger under their armpit to stop them slipping away from you in the bath, how you should really take the vest off down over the body to stop getting germs in their eyes, oh all those things which made a baby so precious.

Some of the pictures were in B&W and we will no doubt be scrapbooking them, but then we saw the warmth come into them as the colour pictures .. a gorgeous yellow babygro Uncle Bill brought us for Lilly, almost five years ago, when he was here for Ken & Jean's Golden wedding...a lot of water under our communal bridges in that five years..It was just like new as Lyla had the hip brace and couldn't wear lots of the first size things.

We think that Annabelle may also have to have the hip brace for a while, but it is common with breexch babies and after the unknown with lyla it is less of a worry this time. Also she just got results back all okay today as she had been jaundiced for a little longer than expected .. I was so pleased, a little family so busy doesn't need any extra worries..but it is strange how you don't know how much it was on your mind until the relief of an all good result comes to you.. x
..anyways, I go on too long.. I think this will be my Sofa View for February..
February!

January Week 1: Sofa view!!

I was feeling quite strange this morning with no prompt to peek at. The computer was on.. what should I look at ?.. most odd .... only goes to show just what a habit 365+1 days worth of peeking has done to us all!    Doesn't Tesco make a special offer last 21 days to make us buy things and form a habit.. so I gues us 365ers are here to stay..maybe we should call these our 52weekers!

So, it was a late night and then a late morning.. lovely! This afternoon we took ourselves off to St Ives with Zac, Jordan was at work and it was 'banging' in almost every restaurant in town.. people everywhere, like a summer day, even surfing kids in the water, but boy my ears were cold and it was wintery .. and does Col or Zac look remotely summery!

We ate out and then came home to a few chores in readiness for work tomorrow, a bit of TV and a brainwave!  Here it is, one of my chosen views for the year... the sofa in my sitting room.. usually Col & I are in residence in our Stressless sofa, poor old timers with our backs..but today Zac & Kate were playing MarioCart.. and I thought the pic would be good, after all the Xmas decs and stuff will change over the year won't they.. and if friends or relatives come by they can be in my 12 pictures!
