So, yesterday Zac, Colin & I grabbed a few hours on the boat.. picked up Col's Dad at Penzance which saved him getting a wet backside like we did in the chop on the way out on the inflatable!

Not completely fitting with the Summer Colours prompts but a good try! Look at that grey cloud behind Zac, luckily it came to nothing and the sun shone (on my feet)!

My weekend:

So we took advantage of some fab weather and a favourable tide and got a few hours 'out West' yesterday.. only ONE place to head when you are in the boat and the weather is fine!

Crafty Me?

Not much craftiness going on in my house the last year or so, but my untidy scrap room will be sorted one of these days and I will return to photos and memories.. just that right now I am happy Making The Memories and will scrap them some day when I am not out there quite so much!







So Crafty for me today is 'stealing Ross's pictures'.. these are a few from his GoPro camera , not bad for stills from video.. it goes under water so I wanted to share the jellyfish pic especially xx

Sunrise, 4.45am 22 June

Just had the best of days.. getting the boat launched down at Porthleven harbour. Reversing it down the slip on the back of Colin's van.. it is quite stressful to watch and maybe almost as stressful for him to do!  Ross and his pal Lewis came along and we went round to the back of the Mount for some sunning and a little fishing.

And we are in..4 months and we take it out again!

And fish for tea (for me anyways!)

Ross got some lovely footage on his GoPro, of a huge jellyfish passing under the boat, there are a lot of them about. I am hoping one day we will see the pod of dolphins which is still in the area by all accounts.

Where do I begin...a month of days!

So I think I have a bunch of photos to tell the story of the past month! I will make a few notes but let the pics speak for themselves.. I have sadly lost momentum with the challenges so I will include the view pictures I have tried to take , my saving grace I think!

Since my last note we have spent seven nights in America visiting with Col's Uncle Bill and Deborah and seeing two of Col's first cousins who he only gets to see every ten or fifteen years.

 We had a lovely afternoon sailing on the Potomac (the river where that plane crashed in icey water about 30 yrs ago) We loved seeing planes landing at National airport right over our heads..

It was great weather and we got in the pool a few times, absolutely just what we needed, except we know now that summer is gone for good!  

The last few days we spent with friends about an hour from Col's Uncle so it worked out well..we ate and drank so often I felt quite full for a week when we got home!  The hospitality was fab and it was amazing to spend time with Michele who is an encyclopaedia of food and I think all things Italy! Their family came by too so we got to meet all the new additions to the family.

Our Zac arrived at Heathrow about an hour after we did on 22nd September, it was just great to see him ad worked out just right for travelling home together.  He goes away again this Friday, that month has really flown by; no big parties as weather and house / building works have not leant themselves to a proper 'do' but he has seen family and friends, chilled and had nights out and we have just enjoyed having him about..

365/251 Hands.

I knew I would like getting the pictures for this prompt. I was heading off out in the boat with my three generations of Jones men! It reminds me of Colin's mum who used to work in a biscuit factory and even though the women were of all different ages and styles they all agreed that their hands showed their true ages.. the young 16 year old, the mum, the grandmother etc... and when I notice a person's hands I always think of that..and wonder where they would fit in the factory hands line up!

..there were so many nice shots, I had to include them all!!

  

 

So, this morning.. a quick trip into the office and pleaded our case that we haven't had anywhere near a proper amount of holidays, (who does when they run their own business) so today was one of our holidays!  Of course I still had to make the sandwiches!

We headed off and got the boat from the Mount in good time after high tide, while there was still enough water.. the sea was like a millpond, gorgeous!  

Col and Zac swapped the prop over and got everything ready, Col is just so competant with all things boating and engines, and it is nice to see Zac so comfortable at sea.. just as well mind!  The little inflatable outboard had a cough or two so Col had to play with that when we anchored up for lunch.. he just loves to tinker with engines and I have other pictures of him many years ago looking just as happy on a boat in the Maldives when working there!

Pops did some fishing and loves messing about in the boats.. the highlight of the day was spotting a basking shark alonside just beneath the Minack, and then a pod of dolphins.. they came real close and seemed to play with us, they were really good size and kept rushing up in the wake of the boat and then as if in finale one did a big somersault just in front of us.. I was so so excited, it was fantastic to see then following the noise of our engine and then soaring around in the water..and especially as our boat in not too big it even beat seeing them from a dhoni when we were on holiday.

365/205 Nine.

Knowing the prompt earlyish in the day I had the number in mind.. here is my first one.. nine parts of out train tickets yesterday, I can never work out which bit is the ticket and the reservation!

Decent day in the office, needed a rest really as it was a busy weekend... but the phones are quiet as lots of folk are on holiday I suppose, gives us chance to catch up on the orders we do have! Shame we aren't like some of our European suppliers and have two or even four weeks shutdown in summer!

Tides and the sun was still with us at 5pm so we grabbed a few hours in the boat with Pops and Jb, and April came too as Ross was surfing.. turns out she is a lucky charm and we caught (more than) 9 mackerel... I am trying to pin some more pictures in but tablet blogging seems to freeze after a few images!? Does anyone else suffer with this problem?

We took some nibbley food and Jb was immersed in her latest book.. almost sacrilege to have her head in a book when most would be gazing at the wonderful scenery!

9pm... we took some great little pictures as five of us in an inflatable boat made our way back to shore.. and missed the chip shop but (well I should say nine) but about five minutes!

So this was our 9pm..

Had to show you this house at Lamorna.. there used to be a quarry there and two huge piles of stone sit silent behingd some cottages.. I have always been unnerved seeing them there, but apparently stone has its own special slope and if its okay its stable.. not sure I'd think that if I was buying the house..
